Day 25: Art happens when the stars align

Day 25/30: Happy Thanksgiving*

Tech glitch. This was supposed to post on the 25th. Oh well..

I’m giving thanks for my wonderful family, friends, warm house, enough food to eat, living in a safe country where I can vote and read the books I want. I’m giving thanks for a healthy body and relatively sane mind. I’m giving thanks for the wonders of space and time and technology*.

I’m especially giving thanks for art and all the amazing things it allows us to process by creating it. It allows for a conversation to begin, to happen, and resolve, even if there are no words uttered. Art is part of my HeART (yes, I’m a dork).

Art happens when the stars align… or don’t.

Hope everyone has a wonderful, warm and safe Thanksgiving.

*As technology has allowed for this to be posted early on a day when I hopefully will be flying at 30,000 feet on my way to family (and some sun)!

Day 24: Painting with light

Day 24/30: Simple, clear, focused.

Sometimes things just make sense. I love this photograph because it’s simple, has one clear subject (the cloud) and its the focus of attention. At least that was my intention.

Call me a cloud freak. It’s ok. I can take it…

Cloud painting?

Can you?

Taken with a Samsung Vibrant mobile phone. That date should read 11/24… oh well, Happy Early Thanksgiving!

Day 23: Refracted art

Day 23/30: I’m seeing more and worrying about ‘doing’ less.

Which in turn makes me see more; more art everywhere! It’s crazy really. And really fun. Yes, this art thing can be fun. Is fun.

How cool is refracted light? This is coming from a prism that is hanging by my kitchen window. Not that we don’t get sunshine in Seattle, but not often, and not often when I’m home and get to witness this rainbow art being created…

Why don’t we have crystals in every window ala Pollyanna?

Mmmm, maybe my next art project… hope this one makes you smile. 🙂

Day 22: Berry nice

Day 22/30: I was attracted to these bright red berries (not sure if they are) that had fallen from a tree. I shot these when the sun was out (in the morning) and really loved the firey color they gave off.

They were so lovely, I had to get closer. They glowed from inside. There is no digital retouching (obviously since it’s also a bit blurry):

Day 21/30 art:

It might have been a full moon (a beautiful one), but I was seeing stars…

Day 19: Fresh perspective

Day 19/30 – there was actual sun in Seattle. I felt I could get a fresh perspective on things. Crisp, cool, apples still hanging on the branch. Amazing color…

Day 16-18: Paint your feelings

Day 16/30 was about the blue weave. I was attracted to this pattern. It was comforting. Like a big blue blanket I wanted to wrap myself up in:

Day 17/30 was a red day. I wanted a fire in my belly. I wanted heat, sparks, passion. I wanted red…

Day 18/30 was a day I just wanted to create a scene that was idyllic, soft, flowing, someplace safe to get lost …
